Three nominated central members of the CPN-UML took their oath of office today before party chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The oath-taking took place at the party's central office in Chyasal, Kathmandu.

Those who took the oath are Mohammad Istiyak Rai, Dr. Pushpa KC Bhandari and Indu Kadariya Bista. The other nominated central members had already taken their oath earlier.

Administering the oath, Chair Oli said the country is currently unable to exercise its freedom and that its independence has been compromised.

He alleged that state terror, hooliganism and unchecked fascism have created a situation in the country where no one can even speak.

Chair Oli said there is no alternative but to prepare for a movement to prevent this situation from worsening further and to make the country able to exercise its freedom and independence.

He said the party must move forward united and disciplined, grounded in correct policy and ideology, to steer the country out of its current crisis.
