Nepali bowlers dominate NPL, Sudurpashchim face Pokhara today

In all three matches played so far in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) under way in Kirtipur, a Nepali bowler has been named player of the match.
In the opening match on Kattik 9, Sher Malla of Lumbini Lions took 3 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs against Sudurpashchim Royals. He dismissed Sherfane Rutherford, Scott Kuggeleijn and Binod Bhandari, as Lumbini won by 7 wickets. Malla received a prize of 50,000 rupees for player of the match.
On Kattik 10, Kamalsingh Airee was named best player as Chitwan Rhinos beat Biratnagar Kings by 8 runs. Karnali Yaks' Yunish Bikram Thakuri is also among the Nepali bowlers to win player of the match.
Today at 5 pm, Pokhara Avengers and Sudurpashchim Royals will face each other at the TU International Cricket Ground. Pokhara, captained by Kushal Bhurtel, will be playing its first match of this edition. Having failed to reach the playoffs in the previous two editions, Pokhara aims to change that history this time.
Sudurpashchim, led by Dipendra Singh Airee, lost to Lumbini in its first match. Sudurpashchim, which reached the final in both of the previous two editions, had beaten Pokhara in both of those editions.
Eight teams are taking part in the tournament, and the final will be held on Mangsir 5.
