Dismissal recommended for suspended Armed Police AIG Banshiraj Dahal

Action has been recommended against Additional Inspector General (AIG) Banshiraj Dahal of the Armed Police Force, who was suspended over allegations of a serious information leak. According to Home Ministry sources, the recommendation is for his dismissal from service.
AIG Dahal came under investigation after former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana (referred to in the text as Cholendra Shumsher Jabara) met him at a police office. The investigation into him has now concluded.
A one-member investigation committee led by fellow Armed Police AIG Anjani Kumar Pokharel has submitted its report to the Home Ministry. The committee has recommended action against Dahal under Section 113 of the Armed Police Regulation, 2072 BS.
Section 113 of the regulation provides for removing or dismissing an Armed Police employee who acts against the code of conduct, without barring them from future government service. With the report now at the Home Ministry, Dahal is likely to be dismissed.
