Education should not be limited to exam results and certificates, says President Paudel

Lalitpur. President Ramchandra Paudel has said that curricula and teaching should be revised to match the demands of the times, along with the highest use of technology. He said so at a program held on Saturday at St. Xavier's Secondary School in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.
Paudel said education should not be limited to exam results and certificates. According to him, education should produce citizens who, along with knowledge and skills, have ethics, discipline, creativity, cooperation, compassion and social responsibility.
Modern education should develop a sense of respect for social harmony, coexistence and diversity, he said. He also said education should help individuals become citizens who are aware of and accountable to their society, culture, history and nation.
Noting that times are changing, Paudel said basic human values need to be further strengthened along with change.
