Water level recedes in Kaligandaki, Kaligandaki 'A' resumes power generation from today

The Kaligandaki 'A' Hydropower Project, located at Beltari in Kaligandaki-5, Syangja, is set to resume power generation from today.

Power generation from the project had been halted after the Kaligandaki river flooded due to four consecutive days of continuous rainfall. With the river's water level now receding, the project has prepared to resume generation.

Since the rain stopped on Wednesday night, floods in rivers including the Narayani and Kaligandaki have begun to recede. The flood that hit the Kaligandaki river on Sunday had blocked the Mid-Hill Highway, which connects Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang in the Dhaulagiri region to the national road network, at several points.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the weather across the country is expected to gradually improve following the continuous rain.
