New chairpersons appointed at Bharatpur, Bheri, Dadeldhura hospitals and Vaidyakhana committee

The Ministry of Health and Population has appointed new chairpersons to the Bharatpur, Bheri and Dadeldhura hospital development committees and the Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana Development Committee.

Under a ministerial-level decision, Kshitij Poudel has been appointed chairperson of the Bharatpur Hospital Development Committee, with Anita Khadka and Nawaraj Timilsina appointed as members. Poudel, a resident of Bharatpur-12, was selected from among 9 candidates. He currently works as a loan officer at a development bank. Under existing provisions, the committee chairperson must be a person active in the social sector.

Bharatpur Hospital is a major government hospital under the federal government. The new officeholders are expected to coordinate on infrastructure, staffing and service management at the hospital, which faces a high patient load.

Similarly, Laxman Sigdel has been appointed chairperson of the Bheri Hospital Development Committee. After publishing a notice for the vacant post under the Bheri Hospital Development Committee (Formation) Order, 2076 BS, the ministry interviewed 10 candidates. The ministry said Sigdel was given the responsibility based on the recommendation of an expert panel.

Trailokyanath Pandey has been appointed chairperson of the Dadeldhura Hospital Development Committee. He took the oath of office and confidentiality before Health Minister Nisha Mehta on Friday.

Leadership of the Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana Development Committee has been handed to Munkarna Thapa. The ministry expects that under his leadership, the institutional management of the Vaidyakhana and the production of Ayurvedic medicines will be made more effective.
