Canada announce squad for League 2 series against Nepal

Canada has announced a 15-player squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series to be played against Nepal and Oman. Thirty-six-year-old Hamza Tariq has been named captain of the side, while Shreyas Movva has been given the vice-captaincy.

Tariq is set to return to Canada's ODI squad after seven years. He played his first ODI in 2011 against Afghanistan, and his most recent ODI was against the Netherlands in 2014. After Canada lost ODI status that same year, its 50-over matches have since been counted as List A fixtures.

In the League 2 points table, Oman sit fourth with 31 points. Canada are sixth with 25 points, and Nepal are seventh with 24 points.
