Alternative route ready as Langtang trekking trail reopens

The Langtang Valley trekking trail in Rasuwa, which had been blocked by floods, has reopened after an alternative route was built.
Movement on the trail had stopped after flooding on the Bhotekoshi River damaged structures in the Syafrubesi area and the Pasang Lhamu Highway.
Keeping trekkers' safety in mind, the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), along with local authorities, took the initiative to build a new route bypassing the flood-affected section. Trekkers can now go from the district headquarters, Dhunche, via Thulo Bharkhu, Brabal and Thulo Syafru to Bamboo, and from there via Lama Hotel to Langtang village.
Dindu Jyangba Tamang, ward chair of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-4, said that although the disaster created problems on the trail, a safe alternative route has now been arranged. Locals are happy that the trekking trail has reopened.
