Gas dealers urge Nepal Oil Corporation to halt industrial retail sales amid worsening shortage

The Gas Dealers' Federation Nepal has drawn the attention of the Nepal Oil Corporation to a growing shortage of LP cooking gas in the country, saying consumers are unable to get gas easily.
In a memorandum submitted to the corporation, the federation demanded that retail sales of gas from industries be stopped. According to the federation, new cylinders are being sold by industries for up to Rs 2,700. It has demanded that such sales be halted immediately.
In the memorandum, the federation said "a scheme to loot consumers is not needed" and stated that retail sales should be stopped.
As the shortage deepens, the federation has asked the corporation to take the necessary initiative, saying consumers are suffering.
