Congress convention: Those running for central posts cannot contest provincial, district committees

Anyone who becomes a candidate for any post at the 15th convention of Nepali Congress will not be allowed to run in the provincial and district committee elections that follow. The party's Central Election Committee has issued a notice on the matter.

The provision is mentioned in the notice issued by Raju Katuwal, member secretary of the election committee. The committee issued a press release to draw everyone's attention to the legal provisions concerning the upcoming convention and the next committee elections.

According to the notice, those who become candidates at one level will not be allowed to become candidates at another level.

The 15th convention of Nepali Congress is reportedly set to begin on Sunday.
