Clash over hospital inauguration in Bara's Pheta, 17-year-old critically hurt by gunfire
A 17-year-old boy was critically injured after being shot during a clash that broke out following a dispute over a hospital inauguration in Pheta Rural Municipality-3, Bara.
The clash occurred between RSP and UML cadres during the hospital's inauguration. According to the administration, outgoing rural municipality chair Amirilal Sah Kanu had wanted to stop the inauguration and have the name on the foundation plaque removed.
After the incident, around 38 government employees, including a police inspector, who had been surrounded at the health post in Pheta Rural Municipality-3, were safely rescued.
The incident has also drawn political reaction. Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal leader and former lawmaker Rambabu Yadav alleged that the clash during the hospital inauguration and the police firing of gunshots had once again exposed the government's discriminatory attitude toward Madhesh.
