Sixteen Indonesian tourists who had gone trekking on the Annapurna Circuit and got stranded in Manang have been rescued by helicopter. A Dynasty Helicopters aircraft flew them from the Ghatang Agro area in Nisyang Rural Municipality-1 to Sahaji in Besisahar Municipality-7, Lamjung.

The tourists had been stuck in Ghatang after continuous rainfall from Asoj 8 to 11 triggered landslides in several places. Lamjung Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Bahadur Basnet, said they were rescued by helicopter.

Meanwhile, three German tourists who had gone to visit Limi Valley and were stranded in Halji village of Namkha Rural Municipality-6, Humla, were also airlifted on Thursday. Heavy snowfall from Asoj 9 to 11 had blocked the trail with thick snow, preventing them from traveling.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Khadka of the Humla District Police Office, a Simrik Air helicopter flew them from Halji to Surkhet via Simikot airport.
