Armed Police AIG Banshi Raj Dahal dismissed from service

The Home Ministry has dismissed Armed Police Force Additional Inspector General (AIG) Banshi Raj Dahal from service. The ministry issued a press release on Friday informing that departmental action had been taken to remove Dahal from service.
According to ministry Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Anand Kafle, Dahal has been removed from the Armed Police service effective Asoj 23, 2083. He had been under suspension since Asoj 19.
The ministry said the action was taken after determining that he had repeatedly violated conduct-related provisions, engaged in indisciplined conduct, and acted in a manner that damaged the honor and prestige of the Government of Nepal and the organization he served. The decision was made based on a report submitted by an investigation committee.
Dahal came under investigation after meeting former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Jabbra at a police office. The Home Minister's Secretariat also issued a four-point clarification regarding the dismissal, stating that the decision to remove him from service was made by the Home Minister.
