Naima seeks relief for delayed vehicle registration after disaster

Naima has written to the Department of Transport Management, seeking facilitation for vehicles that could not be registered on time due to disasters. Under the prevailing arrangement, vehicles must be registered with the concerned transport office within 15 days of customs clearance.
However, Naima said floods and other natural disasters in Jomsom in Mustang and Beni in Myagdi have hindered compliance with this deadline. Vehicles that have been cleared by customs at the Korala border point in Mustang have not been able to reach transport offices on time because of the disaster. As a result, businesspeople are unable to complete the registration process within the stipulated period.
Keeping the special circumstances of the disaster in mind, Naima has asked the department to extend the registration deadline. The letter also requests facilitation so that businesspeople do not face unnecessary administrative and financial burdens because of the delay.
