A Nepali delegation led by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has left for Washington, DC, in the United States for a two-day visit. The delegation departed Kathmandu on Friday night at the invitation of Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank Group.

The visit will take place on Asoj 19 and 20, corresponding to October 5 and 6.

Finance Minister Wagle is scheduled to hold talks with senior officials of the World Bank, the US Department of the Treasury and the US International Development Finance Corporation. Separate meetings with major private-sector investors have also been arranged.

Mobilising further assistance for the reconstruction of physical and economic infrastructure damaged by the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi area is the main agenda of the discussions. Support for increasing assistance for building disaster-resilient infrastructure is also on the agenda.

The discussions will also cover Nepal's exit from the grey list, the monitoring list of the Financial Action Task Force.

Broader economic reforms and expansion of bilateral cooperation are also included in the visit.
