Cloudy in hills and mountains, partly cloudy in Tarai, fog likely tomorrow morning

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces are expected to remain mostly cloudy today. The department said the monsoon winds across the country are being partly affected by westerly winds as well.

The hills and mountains of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, along with the Tarai across the country, will see partly cloudy weather. The department noted that light to moderate rainfall is possible at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki, and light rain may occur at one or two places in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim, as well as in the Tarai from Koshi to Lumbini.

Fog is expected in the Tarai tomorrow morning. The department's forecast indicates light rain or snowfall is possible at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, and in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki tomorrow.

Among major cities, the department said Nepalgunj's temperature will range from 34 to 36 degrees Celsius with no chance of rain, and Janakpur also has no chance of rain, with temperatures between 33 and 35 degrees. Pokhara will have a 40 percent chance of rain with temperatures between 29 and 31 degrees.

Kathmandu will see temperatures of 28 to 30 degrees with a 20 percent chance of rain, while Biratnagar and Birendranagar will have temperatures of 32 to 34 degrees with a 20 percent chance of rain.
