Sudurpashchim government preparing to present budget tomorrow; Business Advisory Committee meets today

The Sudurpashchim Province government is preparing to present the budget for fiscal year 2083/84 in the provincial assembly on Wednesday. Budget preparation has reached its final stage. The assembly's Business Advisory Committee is meeting today to discuss the budget's presentation.

The budget for the current fiscal year, brought by the previous government led by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, was not passed by the provincial assembly. Political equations later changed, and a new government was formed under Khagaraj of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), with the support of CPN-UML.

With the current fiscal year nearly three months old, the provincial government has still not presented a budget. According to Ratopati, uncertainty over the budget arose because the source of funds had not been settled. The chief minister, who had said the budget would be brought on Monday, fell ill.

Because the budget has not been presented in the provincial assembly, the province's day-to-day administrative work has also been affected.
