Traffic halted on Hetauda-Kathmandu short route as Kulekhani water level rises

Vehicle movement on the Hetauda-Kathmandu short route has been halted as the water level in the Indrasarovar reservoir of the Kulekhani Hydropower Project continues to rise.

As the reservoir's water level kept rising due to continuous rainfall, the Makwanpur District Administration Office suspended vehicle movement from 4 pm Sunday.

According to the administration, no vehicles will be allowed to ply the Deurali-Sisneri-Kathmandu road or the Palung-via-Sisneri-Deurali-Hetauda road from 4 pm Sunday until 5 am on Asoj 12.

Travelers have been urged to use the Tribhuvan Highway during this period.
