Bhotekoshi flood: operation shifts from 'search and rescue' to 'search and recovery'

The government has decided to shift the search for people missing after the Bhotekoshi flood from a 'search and rescue' operation to a 'search and recovery' one.
Floods in the Bhotekoshi on Bhadau 10 had damaged hydropower projects in Rasuwa and neighboring districts. More than a month after the flood, the search for missing laborers and staff is still ongoing.
The government made the decision because, after prolonged searching, the chances of finding the missing alive have grown slim. The search will now be carried forward linked with recovery and rehabilitation.
Accordingly, alongside the search for missing laborers, priority will also be given to restoring the hydropower projects damaged by the flood to operation.
