Myagdi River flood cuts Beni–Darwang road, puts Dukhubesi village at risk

Floodwaters from the Myagdi River have cut the Beni–Darwang road at Balautey, Ward 6 of Malika Rural Municipality, in Myagdi. The flood has also put Dukhubesi village in the same area at risk.
The road was eroded by floods that came after rain fell between Asoj 8 and 11. Since the road was cut, vehicles have been running on an alternative route.
The alternative road is narrow and unpaved, and its gradient is also not properly aligned. There is not enough space on this road for large vehicles to pass each other, and in some places vehicles have been scraping the ground.
The Beni–Darwang road connects Beni, the district headquarters of Myagdi, with Darwang in the district. With the flood increasing the risk to both the road and the settlements, local residents are facing difficulties in travel.
