CM Pandey visits flood-hit Parbat's Farse, orders immediate road restoration

Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey conducted an on-site inspection of Farse in Jaljala Rural Municipality-8, Parbat, which was affected by flooding in the Kaligandaki River. The Kaligandaki had flooded following rain that began on Sunday.

As floods and landslides blocked roads during the festival season, causing hardship to locals, CM Pandey directed the province's district-based Infrastructure Development Offices to immediately restore roads wherever alternative arrangements were possible.

More than 20 people have died recently in Gandaki Province alone due to continuous rain-triggered floods, landslides and inundation. Twelve people who had gone mountaineering in Manang remain missing.

Continuous rainfall has blocked roads in various districts of the province and put settlements at risk. The provincial government has said it is carrying out rescue, relief and road-connectivity restoration work in the affected areas.
