Asian Games cricket: Nepal to face Sri Lanka in quarterfinal

Nepal will face Sri Lanka on Tuesday in the men's cricket quarterfinal of the 20th Asian Games underway in Japan.

Nepal reached the last eight as winners of Group A. After their match against hosts Japan was cancelled due to rain, Nepal secured top spot in the group with 3 points.

In the group stage, Nepal had beaten Afghanistan by 5 wickets, while Afghanistan defeated hosts Japan. Afghanistan, with 2 points, finished second in the group and advanced to the quarterfinals. Japan, with just 1 point, were eliminated at the group stage.

In the other quarterfinal, Afghanistan will play India. Meanwhile, all matches in the women's cricket event at the Asian Games have concluded, with India winning gold, Sri Lanka silver and Pakistan bronze.
