Government registers Building Act, 2083 bill in Parliament with aim of housing for every citizen

The government has registered the Building Act, 2083 bill with the Federal Parliament Secretariat, with the aim of ensuring every citizen's right to housing. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development registered the bill on Friday.

The bill proposes grants of up to Rs 75,000 to ensure housing for poor and disadvantaged citizens. It also includes provisions for building smart homes through concessional loans. The bill further proposes strict action against homeowners who do not follow approved building standards and maps.

Prime Minister Balen Shah has said the right to housing will be ensured for every citizen. He made this statement on social media on Saturday.
