Government transfers 17 joint secretaries, two Finance Ministry posts left vacant

The government has transferred and reassigned responsibilities for 17 joint secretaries of the administrative service. Under a decision of the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, Asoj 13, they have been posted to various ministries, constitutional commissions, provinces and local levels.

Two joint secretaries under the Ministry of Finance are also among those transferred. Ramkrishna Pudasaini of the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office has been made chief administrative officer of Dang's Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City. Deputy Comptroller General Bishnu Prasad Gyawali has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Since no new joint secretaries have been sent to replace them, those posts will remain vacant for now, the Ministry of Finance said.

Joint Secretary Namaraj Ghimire, who was at the Muslim Commission, has been brought to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, while Yuvaraj Adhikari from that ministry has been sent to the Muslim Commission in his place. Another joint secretary from the Ministry of Industry, Rambandhu Subedi, has been transferred to the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Four joint secretaries who were without assignments at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration have been given new responsibilities. Dr Pushparaj Shahi has been made chief administrative officer of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, Bhupendra Thapa has gone to the Investment Board, Bedprasad Kharel to the secretariat of the National Security Council, and Chiranjivi Poudel to the National Dalit Commission.

Bagmati Province Secretary Jiv Lal Bhusal has been transferred to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and Madhesh Province Secretary Homnath Poudel to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
