Landslide with debris blocks Prithvi Highway at Ghasikuwa

The Prithvi Highway was blocked on Monday morning after a landslide occurred at Ghasikuwa in Byas Municipality-12, Tanahun. The highway was completely blocked after debris fell onto the road from above.

Transport service on the highway has been affected due to the landslide. Vehicle movement on this stretch has been halted due to the road blockage.

As soon as news of the road blockage was received, a police team was mobilised to the site from the District Police Office.

Due to continuous heavy rainfall, floods and landslides in recent days, major highways and feeder roads in various parts of the country have been fully or partially blocked. Even though the rain has stopped, landslides continue to occur, once again affecting the Prithvi Highway, one of the main highways connecting the capital.
