Both Marshyangdi hydropower projects resume operation after flood flow recedes

Two major hydropower projects on the Marshyangdi River operating in Lamjung district have resumed operation from today.

Power generation has resumed at the 70-megawatt Middle Marshyangdi and 50-megawatt Upper Marshyangdi 'A' hydropower projects.

Both projects had been shut down since Sunday morning after the water level and flow in the Marshyangdi River rose. They were brought back into operation after the flood flow in the river receded.

With both projects back in operation, generation has resumed from a combined capacity of 120 megawatts.
