Share market falls for second straight day

The share market fell for the second consecutive day. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the benchmark NEPSE index dropped nearly 10 points to close at around 2,604 points.

The index had risen somewhat at the start of trading but fell to around 2,588 points during the day's fluctuations before recovering slightly by the close.

Sub-indices of all groups except life insurance and others declined, with the trading group seeing the sharpest fall of nearly 2 percent.

Turnover fell to about Rs 4.65 billion from around Rs 5.38 billion the previous day, as nearly 11 million shares of about 363 companies changed hands.

According to the exchange, share prices fell for around 199 companies, rose for about 69 companies, and stayed unchanged for about 10 companies.

Even in the falling market, ICFC Finance's debenture 2083 rose nearly 9 percent in price, while Citizens Super 30 Mutual Fund fell by more than about 5.25 percent.
