Fire extinguishers to be made mandatory in public vehicles, route permits tightened

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office is preparing to make fire extinguishers mandatory in passenger public vehicles. The office plans to make arrangements for fire extinguishers compulsory alongside the route permit.
The preparation has been made with the aim of making public vehicles safer, more organized and passenger-friendly. Along with this, provisions related to route permits for public vehicles will also be tightened.
The Valley Traffic Police has said it is preparing to make regular monitoring of public vehicles more effective and to tighten rules on matters directly linked to passenger safety.
