Madhesh records 459 disaster incidents, 92 deaths in first two months of fiscal year

Janakpurdham. Madhesh Province recorded 459 disaster incidents in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2083/84. The incidents left 92 people dead and affected more than 500 families.
The incidents included fires, floods, lightning strikes, electrocution, drowning, wildlife attacks and inundation. Many of the deaths were reported to have been caused by electrocution.
Along with the human toll, the disasters damaged houses, livestock and other physical structures. According to data from the Madhesh Province Police Office, the 459 incidents caused physical damage worth Rs 29,247,555 (Rs 2.92 crore).
