NEPSE sees minor recovery after three-day decline

On Thursday, the last trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose slightly after three days of decline. The index increased by less than one point to close at around 2,599. Previously, the index had fallen continuously on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The index improved after share prices of banking, development bank and finance companies rose. Throughout the day, more than 10 million shares of around 350 companies were traded. Total turnover reached around Rs 4.89 billion, higher than Wednesday's nearly Rs 4.76 billion.
Share prices of around 140 companies rose while around 130 fell, and a few remained unchanged. Sindhu Bikas Bank's share price rose by about 11 percent, making it the day's top gainer, while Sayapatri Hydropower's price fell by nearly 10 percent.
By turnover, Siddhartha Bank ranked first with around Rs 310 million, followed by Api Power in second place with around Rs 230 million.
