School bus carrying students falls off cliff in Pokhara, 18 rescued

A school bus carrying students met with an accident this morning at Kalikasthan in Pokhara Metropolitan City-28, Kaski. The bus, bearing number Ga 2 Kha 1417, was heading from Majhthana toward Kalikasthan when it fell off the Okhle cliff, landing about 200 meters below the road.
Students from Kalika Boarding School were on board the bus. According to preliminary data, 25 people were on the bus including the driver and assistant driver. The bus was bringing Class 10 students to school for tuition classes.
According to Kaski Police spokesperson Birendra Paswan, 18 people have been rescued so far and sent to hospital. Of those rescued, 16 have already reached the hospital, while two are being taken to hospital, police said.
According to the latest information received, three people have died in the accident. Rescue operations are continuing at the site.
