Only an ordinary Dashain this year at Chitwan prison

Inmates at Chitwan prison will celebrate Dashain only in an ordinary manner this year, as the country is in mourning over disasters including the Bhotekoshi flood.
They said there was none of the usual enthusiasm inside the prison even after the flood that struck on Bhadau 10.
In previous years, sports, cultural programs, dancing and communal feasts used to be organized inside the prison.
Inmates said the practice of bringing buffaloes, male goats, castrated goats and chickens for slaughter for communal feasts will not take place this year.
They said there is no restriction on eating meat individually, but there will be no communal feast.
One inmate who has been imprisoned for 15 years said he plans to celebrate Dashain in a vegetarian manner this time.
Inmates have planned to mark Dashain in an ordinary way, applying tika with family, without any entertainment programs.
