Gandaki Police appeal to public to guard against theft, fraud and accidents during festival

The Gandaki Province Police Office in Pokhara has issued a public appeal urging people to stay safe from theft, fraud, robbery and accidents that can occur during Bada Dashain and other festivals.
Under the slogan "Let's be civil, stay safe, and celebrate the festival with joy," police have asked people to maintain mutual goodwill and celebrate responsibly.
Since people tend to leave home, go shopping and gather in crowds at public places during festivals, the police have called for vigilance. They have suggested properly locking doors and windows before leaving home, asking neighbours to keep an eye on the house, and installing CCTV and emergency alarms.
Since jewellery, mobile phones and cash can be stolen in crowded fairs and markets, people have been asked to safeguard their belongings. They have also been asked to keep lights on outside the house and avoid unnecessary mingling with unauthorized persons.
The public has also been urged not to use explosive materials such as firecrackers and not to disturb others by playing loudspeakers. Police have warned against driving under the influence of alcohol.
