Sudurpashchim government again fails to present budget, Supreme Court seeks written reply on writ

The Sudurpashchim Province government again failed to present the budget on Wednesday. The provincial assembly meeting called to present the budget has been postponed.
According to provincial assembly secretary Devbahadur Bogati, the next assembly meeting will be held at 8 am on Thursday. The provincial assembly secretariat said the meeting was postponed after the provincial government failed to bring the budget.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has ordered the Sudurpashchim Province government to submit a written response in a certiorari writ petition filed against it over the budget. The order states that a written response, along with the grounds and reasons on whether the order sought in the writ petition should be issued or not, must be submitted within 15 days, excluding travel time.
The Supreme Court has also summoned both parties for a discussion on whether to issue an interim order as sought by the petitioner. The discussion has been scheduled for Friday, Asoj 23.
