Only one of 17 hotels on Chitwan-Mugling stretch rated 'excellent'

Of 17 hotels and restaurants inspected along the Chitwan-Mugling section of the Prithvi Highway, only one has received an 'excellent' rating.
A joint team from the Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Hetauda, and the Divisional Office, Chitwan, inspected hotels in Ramnagar, Jugedi, Dasdhunga and Mugling, grading them based on hygiene and quality. The team gave hotels logos and stickers according to their rating.
'Dal Bhat Power', located at Ichchhakamana-5 in Mugling, was judged best for food quality and received a three-star sticker.
Earlier, in a monitoring exercise of 17 hotels in Thakre, Dhunibensi and Galchhi in Dhading, 14 had received yellow stickers. In Dhading, two hotels received a green sticker with two stars and one received a 'satisfactory' sticker with one star.
The inspections were carried out following a meeting at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and a notice from the Department of Transport Management dated Asoj 27, after passenger complaints grew over stale food, unhygienic conditions and overpricing.
