Minister directs study on expanding Tarigaun and Rara airports

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadga Raj Paudel has directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to begin a study on developing and expanding Tarigaun airport in Dang and Rara airport in Mugu.

Minister Paudel gave the directive on Thursday during discussions with authority officials at the ministry.

According to the authority, Minister Paudel had led an inspection visit to Nepalgunj, Dang, Rara and Jumla airports from Asoj 21 to 26. Authority and civil aviation sector officials took part in that visit.

The minister said a detailed study should be carried out on the infrastructure needed for the long-term development of these airports, their technical feasibility, and ways to increase operating capacity and improve services.
