Actor Imran Khan directed to leave India by October 28

Bollywood actor Imran Khan has been directed by Indian authorities to leave the country by October 28.
The notice was issued by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office in Mumbai.
Imran, nephew of actor Aamir Khan, had taken part in a protest at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan on October 10.
The protest, organized by the Khakroch Janata Party, demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
During the protest, police had briefly taken Imran into custody.
Afterward, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kirit Somaiya filed a complaint with police, saying Imran, despite being a US citizen, had taken part in a political protest.
After police forwarded the complaint to the foreigners' registration office, action was initiated under the Immigration and Foreigners Act.
According to the Indian news agency PTI, Imran holds a US passport and an Overseas Citizen of India card.
Mumbai police said that since he participated in the protest despite not being an Indian citizen, action was being taken under the relevant legal provisions.
Imran has been living in the Khar area of Mumbai.
