Aanbukhaireni grants Rs 7,000 each to 46 farmers who keep plow oxen

Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun has started a grant distribution program to encourage farmers who keep plow oxen.
Under the rural municipality's policy and programs, in the first phase, 46 plow-ox-keeping farmers of Ward No. 1 have been given a grant of Rs 7,000 each.
According to Ward Chair Prem Gurung, a total of Rs 322,000 has been distributed to farmers under this program.
The program has been introduced because, even though the use of modern technology in agriculture has increased, plow oxen still play a role in tilling farmland in rural areas.
The program also aims to preserve the traditional culture of keeping plow oxen and to encourage farmers in animal husbandry.
At a time when both the cost and challenges of animal husbandry are rising, this support is expected to give farmers further encouragement to keep plow oxen.
