Vehicle service centers and garages to be removed from industrial areas under new regulation

Vehicle service centers, workshops and showrooms operating on land and in buildings earmarked for productive industries within industrial areas are to be removed.

Industrial Area Management Limited has repealed the old regulation. In its place, it has brought in the 'Industrial Area Operation and Management Regulation 2083' to put this arrangement into effect.

Under the new regulation, garages and non-productive industries within industrial areas have been given an ultimatum to convert into productive industries. If they fail to convert as directed, their agreements will be cancelled.

The step has been taken with the objective of ensuring that land and buildings in industrial areas are used only for productive industries.
