Trishuli-Narayani banks and areas up to Mugling put on alert, Arughat hospital patients moved

Following the Budhigandaki flood, the administration has urged residents along the Trishuli and Narayani riverbanks to exercise high alert.
The Flood Forecasting Division has placed the area up to Mugling in the high-risk category and asked residents there to move to safe, elevated locations.
Areas around the river in Chitwan and Nawalparasi, however, have been placed in the medium-risk category.
According to Chitwan District Police Office Chief Rameshwar Paudel, loudspeaker announcements have urged those performing cremations at Devghat to move to higher ground and have told vendors not to conduct business with carts or rickshaws along the Narayani bank.
Those fishing or swimming have also been told to remain alert.
Police are also making loudspeaker announcements in Mugling, though they said the flood had not yet entered Chitwan as of now.
According to the Gandaki Province Ministry of Health, patients and staff at Arughat Basic Hospital in Gorkha have been moved to a safe location by ambulance.
Rapid response teams in Gorkha, Lamjung, and Tanahun have been placed on standby.
The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene has activated its Health Emergency Operations Centre and said anyone needing assistance can contact 1115.
As a second wave of the flood moves downstream, the provincial government and local administrations have urged riverside residents from Arughat to Trishuli Dobhan to remain on high alert.
