Australian PM wishes Nepali community happy Dasain

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has extended Dasain greetings to the Nepali community living in Australia.
In a statement, he wished them a joyful Dasain spent with family, friends and the community.
Prime Minister Albanese noted that this year's Dasain comes amid deep sorrow for Nepalis in Nepal and around the world.
He said that while Dasain is normally an occasion to honour a tradition of love and care passed down through generations, this year is different. Saying the Nepali community should not have to bear alone the pain caused by the devastating floods, he pledged Australia's support for recovery and reconstruction in the coming months.
Describing Dasain as a symbol of the victory of truth over falsehood and good over evil, he urged people to draw strength from harmony, compassion, generosity and unity.
