Nepal has set Canada a target of 236 runs, powered by a century from Rohit Paudel, in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match.

In the match played at Al Amerat Stadium in Oman on Sunday, Nepal scored 235 runs for the loss of all wickets in 50 overs after Canada won the toss and chose to bowl.

Batting at number four, Paudel scored 101 runs off 127 balls with 8 fours and a six. This was his third century in ODI cricket, making him Nepal's highest century-maker in the format.

Lower down the order, Gulshan Jha scored 48 runs off 34 balls, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. Basir Ahmad scored 30 and Arjun Kumal 23, while Aasif Sheikh was out for 4 and Ishan Pandey for a duck.

Having lost an early wicket and come under pressure, Nepal was steadied by a 77-run fourth-wicket partnership between Paudel and Ahmad.

For Canada, Akhil Kumar took 4 wickets, Sukhjinder Singh took 3 and Zahid Shirzad took 2.

In the standings, Canada sits sixth with 25 points from 33 matches, while Nepal, having played 32 matches, is seventh with 24 points. After Oman beat Canada, Nepal's chances of reaching the top four have ended, so the team's focus now is on retaining its ODI status. Nepal will play two matches each against Canada and Oman in this final series.
