PM Shah returns home after attending UN's 81st General Assembly

Prime Minister Balen Shah returned home on Saturday after attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He had led a 14-member Nepali delegation to the assembly.

The finance minister, home minister and tourism minister welcomed Prime Minister Shah at Tribhuvan International Airport. Prime Minister Shah had left for New York, United States, via Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday evening.

Addressing the General Assembly, Prime Minister Shah said that although Nepal's share in total greenhouse gas emissions is less than 0.1 percent, the country faces melting snow in the Himalayas, floods and heavy loss of life and property. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he also put forward a proposal for a 'Himalayan Climate Resilience Mechanism' at the assembly.

During his participation in the General Assembly, Prime Minister Shah also held meetings with representatives of various countries and the international community.
