Pipra Rural Municipality stripped of powers after failing to report new chief administrative officer

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has revoked the financial and administrative powers of Pipra Rural Municipality in Mahottari.
The ministry took this decision after the chief administrative officer, who had been transferred and was required to take up new responsibilities, remained in the municipality. The officials had continued working at the rural municipality without reporting to the agency to which they had been transferred.
The rural municipality had also not made the newly deployed chief administrative officer report for duty.
After the ministry's directive was ignored, Minister Rawal stripped the rural municipality of its administrative powers.
