Avalanche hits Himlung mountain in Manang, 10 climbers and support staff lose contact

An avalanche on the 7,126-metre Himlung mountain, located in the Nar-Phu area of Manang, has left 10 climbers and support staff out of contact.

The Expedition Operators Association Nepal has provided this information. A large avalanche struck the base camp of Himlung mountain on Sunday morning.

The avalanche, which followed continuous rain and heavy snowfall, buried tents at the base camp. At least 10 people are reported to be out of contact.
