Coordination among three tiers still weak nine years into federalism: Minister Prajapati

Bagmati Province Minister for Industry, Tourism, Labor and Transport Rajendra Prajapati said that even as federalism nears nine years of implementation, the expected improvement in working style and coordination among the federal, provincial and local levels has not materialized.

He expressed this view at a program held in Kathmandu on Sunday on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

According to Minister Prajapati, a conflict-like situation is visible among the three levels of government in the industry, tourism and transport sectors.

He said the lack of coordination has affected service delivery and infrastructure construction.

Stressing that running the state becomes difficult when there is no coordination between tiers in a federal system, he emphasized that responsible officials must take this seriously.

He also noted that the provincial government is active in organizing Bagmati's transport sector.
