Flood-damaged Maldhunga bridge to be back in operation before Dashain

Work is underway to bring the Maldhunga bridge connecting Baglung and Parbat back into operation before the upcoming Bada Dashain. The bridge was damaged by floods in the Kaligandaki River on Asoj 11.
According to the Road Division Office, repair work has been carried out with the aim of reopening the bridge before Dashain. Work is reportedly going on at the bridge 24 hours a day.
After the flood damaged the bridge, communication between the two districts was initially cut off. Travel is now taking place via an alternative route.
Passenger traffic is expected to rise during Dashain, and travel between Baglung and Parbat is expected to become easier if the bridge is reopened on time.
