Pokharebagar bridge access road reconnected after 11 days, traffic on Beni-Jomsom-Korala road to resume Monday

The access road to Myagdi's Pokharebagar bridge, which was swept away by floods in the Kaligandaki river along the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, has been reconnected after 11 days. Light vehicles have started plying since the access road was reconnected.
The road, part of the Kaligandaki corridor, had been blocked for nearly two weeks after the access route was washed away.
Although repairs on this road connecting China and India via the Kaligandaki corridor have reached their final stage, challenges remain in ensuring regular, smooth and safe traffic movement.
Authorities say that operating traffic in the current condition would risk disorder and accidents, so a plan has been prepared to complete repair work by Sunday and resume traffic operations from Monday.
