Parajuli sworn in as chair of special committee on climate and Bhotekoshi-Trishuli disaster

Ganesh Parajuli has taken the oath of office as chair of the parliamentary special committee on the impact of climate change in the mountains, climate justice, and the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli disaster. He was sworn in at Singha Durbar on Wednesday.

Parajuli was elected chair at the committee's first meeting.

The committee has been tasked with studying, at the parliamentary level, the effects of climate change in mountain regions, the problems faced by affected communities, and issues related to disaster management.

Chair Parajuli said he would present a fact-based report to the House of Representatives within the timeframe set by the committee's mandate.
