Beni–Jomsom road to take seven more days to reopen as Rahughat obstruction slows work

Work to reopen the Maldhunga–Beni–Jomsom–Korala road, which is blocked by floods and landslides, will take about seven more days. Traffic was halted after floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain last Sunday damaged several sections of the road.
Road clearance work is underway. However, an obstruction in the Rahughat area of Myagdi has delayed operations. The report says the work has been held up by an obstruction linked to the Rahughat Hydro project.
According to the Department of Roads, the Beni–Jomsom road could return to normal within a week if the Rahughat obstruction is removed.
Meanwhile, the landslide on the Ghasa–Korala section of the same road has been cleared. This section has now been opened to two-way traffic.
